Itinerary
Depart from Nairobi or Kigali in the morning on Rwandair Express or Kenya Airways. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet the Akagera Aviation team and receive a brief from the Primate Safaris team about your upcoming adventure. Enjoy a Kigali City Tour and visit the Genocide Memorial, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Depart for a scenic 3-hour drive through the picturesque Rwandan countryside to Ruhengeri, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Accommodation: One & Only Gorilla’s Nest (Forest Lodge) - Full Board
After an early breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters by 6:00 AM for registration and a briefing on gorilla trekking. Trekking to find the mountain gorillas can take between 2 to 6 hours. Once you locate the gorillas, you'll have one hour to observe and photograph these incredible animals. Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive back to Kigali for an overnight stay. Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel - Bed & Breakfast
